Matthew A. Wand is a native Oregonian, born and raised in east Multnomah county. Matt is an active member of his community and in local government, having served on the City of Troutdale Budget Committee, and the Troutdale Centennial Celebration Committee, along with other volunteer efforts. He has served as a City Councilor on the Troutdale City Council and currently serves as the State Representative for House District 49 which encompasses Wood Village, Fairview, Troutdale, and parts of Portland and Gresham.
After working as an attorney in Portland for more than five years, he started Wand Law Firm, LLC. His practice continues to emphasize litigation, business, construction and real estate matters. He is licensed to practice in Oregon, Washington and Idaho, and in state and federal courts.
He is the co-author of Chapter 14, “Damages Under Construction Agreements And Documentation” Oregon State Bar CLE Construction Law (2004); and has spoken at various legal seminars on public contracting and construction.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys the outdoors with his family, like fishing on Mt. Hood and in the Sandy River. He and his wife (Anne) enjoy watching movies and playing cards. He has been known to occasionally play golf and racquetball.
